"Indigo"

Hyacinth macaws are the largest of all parrots.  They grow to nearly four feet in length and have an enormous wing span.  They are famous for their spectacular colors, cobalt blue feathers and yellow skin around their eyes and beak, and their gentle personalities.  Unfortunately the wild population of hyacinth macaws is only around 3,000 birds in the remote areas of northeastern Brazil.

Coach Minkel and his wife Jackie have had several pet parrots.  However, three years ago they had a rare opportunity to buy a baby hyacinth macaw.  Her name is Indigo and she is now a regular part of the MSU wrestling family.
